Savannah Environmental has played a significant role in the energy sector since 2007, specifically in the roll-out of renewable energy projects throughout southern Africa.  We have provided consulting services to over 350 renewable and baseload energy applications submitted by Independent Power Producers (IPPs) to the Department of Environmental Affairs in South Africa for authorisation, as well as to Eskom on their renewable energy and gas-to-energy projects.  In addition, we have provided environmental management services on the development and implementation of 42 projects selected as preferred bidders by the Department of Energy under the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producers Procurement (REIPPP) Programme (small- and large-scale projects).
